London At Christmas

Last Sunday I had a little couple time in London with the boyfriend and obviously ended up taking a million pictures. London is so pretty no one can resist taking at least one snap! So I thought I would write a little post about my trip with a small selection of the pics I took. I've been dying to visit London at Christmas time for a while now and my first stop was the famous Winter Wonderland...

Christmas Haul

It's Christmas time!!!! I didn't intend on doing a Christmas haul post but I went shopping this weekend and the festive spirit took over. Four hours later I'm falling through the front door, arms loaded, hair a mess and a big smile on my face! I found some really great stuff that I wanted to share with you and they were all such good bargains. I forgot to keep the receipts to write this post (d'uh) and can't remember all the prices but I will put the ones that I know in the captions.

Feeling Festive

Town Hall

It's the most wonderful time of the year! It's December, which means I can get outwardly excited about Christmas right? I have been listening to Smooth Xmas all day (yes this exists), I have had both my advent calendar chocolates today (of course I got two, who just has one?) and I am buying some decorations for the flat this weekend (so excited). I have recently moved to Manchester so this is my first time living here over the festive period. And I LOVE IT!

Mischief Managed

Tomorrow it will be a year since my lifelong dream came true.  Finally, after waiting since 1997, I got to open the doors to the Great Hall at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. And so begins the most magical day of my life! I still remember the first day I got introduced to Harry's world. My sister had been teasing me, so to cheer me up my mum began reading me Philosophers Stone. After a few pages I had grabbed the book out of her hand so I could read it faster! In 2001 I was 10/11 years old and eagerly awaiting my letter from Dumbledore. I honestly checked the letter box all the way up until the first of September. I am choosing to believe the owl must have gotten lost on the way. Luckily that year the first movie came out so that curbed my cravings for a little while.

Prepare to spend a whole day here – there is so much to see. From checking out the many props, exploring the sets (they look so small in real life!) and even buying a tank of butterbeer there is enough to keep any Potter head entertained. But my most favourite part had to be the model of Hogwarts, it’s absolutely incredible. The level of detail and attention that went into it is amazing. As I went to visit in November they had covered the whole thing covered in snow. The Warner Bros. Studio really is a great day out, even for non-obsessed muggles. And since I last went they have introduce the Hogwarts Express, excuse me while I go buy a ticket!

Spicy Vegetable Soup

The weather is colder, wetter and windier. Salads are no longer going to cut it. I know I need something warm to get me through the day. I absolutely love soup: it's healthy, cheap and so easy to make. I've built this recipe up over the past few weeks, taking bits and pieces from various others.
